Start thread halfway
up the hook shank. Leave the tag end of the thread long (5”) and do no
clip it. Wrap a thread base to the hook bend. Tie in one strand of
Krystal Flash. This imitates the trail of bubbles waterboatmen leave
behind them while they swim. Do trim the Krystal Flash yet.

Cut
of a piece of Antron yarn, double it up and tie it in at the hook bend.

Choose 4-6 strands of
peacock herl and tie them in just forwards of the Antron. Wrap thread
forwards to the starting point.

Take
one rubber leg and tie it in at the starting point. Figure “8” around it
with the tying thread in order to get it to lay perpendicular to the
hook shank.Do not trim the rubber legs yet..

Twist the peacock
herl with the tag end of the tying thread. This is done to strengthen
the fragile peacock herl. Wrap the body. Stop short of the eye of the
hook, leaving enough room to tie off the shellback and finish the fly.

Bring the Antron yarn over the top of the hook shank. Tie off and whip
finish. Trim the Krystal Flash tail to about 1” long. Trim the rubber
legs |
