9. Once the spine of the marabou feather is inserted into the
magic tool, the feather fibers from both sides of the marabou should be
extending vertically.

10. Grab the feather fibers of the marabou which are extending
with the MP clamp, and release the spine of the feather from the magic tool.

11. You should now have a marabou feather, with all of its
fibers clamped, as shown below. The spine should be outside of the
clamp.

12. With sharp, precise scissors, trim away the spine.

13. Insert the protruding marabou feather fibers into the
dubbing loop which you have waiting. The wax on the thread will help
keep the fibers in place.

14. Once the fibers are in the loop, apply downward pressure on
your dubbing twister. The tool should compact itself as shown on the
bottom left of the photo below. Spin the dubbing twister until all of
the marabou fibers are secured. Hint: You may want
to strum your dubbing loop once it's been twisted to enhance the look of
your marabou.

15. Once the marabou becomes a permanent part of the dubbing
loop, palmer the now twisted loop forward onto the body of the fly.

16. Depending on the size of your marabou feathers, and the
size of the fly, you may need to repeat steps 8 through 15 - 3 or 4 times to
cover the entire body of the fly with spun marabou. Do not worry about
the fly looking messy or "not right" at this point. Excess marabou
will be trimmed later.
